TEMPE – A member within the Brazilian Youth National Team system, Isabela Puccinelli, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) with the Sun Devil Soccer program, Arizona State women’s soccer head coach Graham Winkworth announced.
“Bela is a technically gifted attacking player who we could use in different ways,” Winkworth said. “She has pace with and without the ball. We hope that she can create and score a few goals for us in 2026.”
Puccinelli is a 5-foot-10 forward out of Curitiba, Brazil. She will arrive in Tempe after playing the 2025 campaign at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College. She played high school soccer at Life Preparatory Academy in Wichita, Kan., where she also played with FC Wichita on the club scene. She also suited up for Imperial FC before moving to the United States.
Puccinelli also earned First Team All-League as a 17-year-old playing with the Wichita Lady Luck in the Major Arena Soccer League in 2024. In eight total matches played, she found the back of the net 22 times and dished out six assists for an average of 3.5 points per match. She bookended her eight-match season with a pair of hauls (four goals) as well as three hat tricks (three goals).
As a byproduct of helping the nationally ranked Blue Dragons to an appearance in the KJCCC Region 6 Championship match, Puccinelli was named to the All-KJCCC Second Team. As a freshman at Hutchinson in 2025, she scored 10 goals and was credited with 10 assists for 30 points in 18 matches played at the forward position. In 12 conference matches, Puccinelli recorded eight goals and nine assists for 25 points.
Against Garden City on Oct. 22, Puccinelli finished a 5-0 victory with her first career hat trick on six shot attempts to pair with two assists for an eight-point performance. It was the 100th all-time hat trick in the program’s 21-year history, while she became the 48th different Blue Dragon student-athlete to accomplish the feat. She also had a two-goal outing on the road at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Aug. 31. Over the course of a three-match stretch in early October, Puccinelli had a goal in each of those three matches.
Puccinelli was called up to the Brazil U-17 National Team in August 2024. She also earned a call-up opportunity with the nation’s U-20 squad in November 2025.
Puccinelli becomes the fourth transfer set to join the Sun Devils' program this offseason, in addition to six prep student-athletes.
