GREELEY, Colo. — Sun Devil Wrestling picked up a well-earned 27-16 road win over Northern Colorado on Sunday afternoon at Bank of Colorado Arena. 

Redshirt sophomore Kaleb Larkin once again headlined the dual for Arizona State as he picked up his first win by fall at the 157-lb. mark after pinning Northern Colorado’s Daishun Powe in just 2:05 to give the Sun Devils a six-point swing in their favor. 

Larkin was followed up by red-hot 165-pounder Nicco Ruiz, adding yet another win by technical fall. The fellow redshirt sophomore continued his offensive surge, landing a plethora of takedowns to solidify a 19-3 win and put more bonus points on the board for the Sun Devils. Ruiz has now won 11 of his last 12 matchups since Nov. 23, 2025 and is tied for the team lead in TFs (6). 

With the overall dual win within striking distance, the backend of the lineup secured back-to-back wins to seal the deal. Graduate student Colton Hawks picked up his first-career win as a Sun Devil via decision 2-0, while freshman heavyweight Ben Szuba found the win column by major decision in his first dual appearance to solidify the ASU 27-16 victory. 

The Sun Devils will continue their three-match road trip with a visit to Northern Iowa on Thursday Jan. 22. The match will begin at 5:30 p.m. MST with a stream available via Flo.TV.
