THANK YOU, ART MARTORI!
The Sun Devils paid tribute to a wrestling icon on Sunday afternoon at Mullett Arena prior to the Nebraska dual, celebrating the accomplishments and legacy of Art Martori, who's closing the doors of his legendary Sunkist Wrestling Club this year.
Martori was honored with a pre-match ceremony with friends, family and nearly two dozen Olympic medalists he's shaped throughout this storied career. He was also celebrated during intermission of the dual.
The ASU alum was touched by the outpouring of support he and his family felt throughout the event.
"You don't go off doing this for that, for people who pat you on your back. When you get this kind of support and people coming back and saying thank you, it's overwhelming. It's not expected. We did change lives and for people to say that to your face and give you a hug, it means a lot. In my time here with ASU with all the fellows I wrestled with, we were brothers. To be able to come back to wrestling and then people come back and tell you how you helped us, you can't measure that."
A perfect day to say thank you to Art Martori ?? pic.twitter.com/IEKikG3Orv

HEATIN' UP!
Heading into the most important stretch of the season, the Sun Devils are beginning to catch fire. Fully healthy once more, Zeke Jones' squad is 5-2 in their last seven dual matches. Three of those wins have come against Pac-12 opponents, helping the Sun Devils to a 4-1 conference record this spring.
LEADING THE CHARGE
A three-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year and 1988 Sun Devil national champion, head coach Zeke Jones was hired to lead his alma mater in April 2014 and immediately turned the program into a national powerhouse while continuing the Sun Devils' tradition of success in the conference.
Jones is directly responsible for bringing five Pac-12 Championships to Tempe since his arrival - bringing ASU's total conference title count to 23. He developed a two-time national champion in Zahid Valencia, a 125 national runner-up in Brandon Courtney (2021) and in 2022, led heavyweight Cohlton Schultz to national runner-up honors. ASU has celebrated 29 All-America honors since Jones' hiring.
Jones is directly responsible for 32 individual Pac-12 titles, five NCAA top-10 finishes, four Pac-12 Most Outstanding Wrestlers, six Pac-12 Wrestlers of the Year, and three Pac-12 Freshmen/Newcomers of the year.
