No. 5 Arizona State (1-1) won its first dual 23-18 against No 18 Lock Haven (0-2), and dropped their dual with No. 15 North Carolina (4-1) 22-16 on Saturday in Bethlehem. ASU got a big win from Tony Negron he topped sixth-ranked Gavin Kane of North Carolina, 7-4, at Journeymen's Wranglemania.
Wrestling in two back-to-back matches of the Journeymen Wranglemania, the Sun Devils had four wrestlers go 2-0 with No. 3 Kyle Parco (149), Chance McLane (165), Max Wilner (174), and Tony Negron (184) going undefeated.

After falling down 8-0 early against Lock Haven, ASU used bonus point victories from Jesse Vasquez and Kyle Parco to bounce back to a 9-8 lead. An injury default went to Lock Haven at 157, but ASU's middleweights stepped up strong. Starting with Chance McLane at 165, ASU took four matches in a row, with Tony Negron's (184) 18-3 tech fall being the largest. Jacob Meissner's (197) decision put the match out of reach at 23-14, before Lock Haven took the heavyweight round to bring the final score to 23-18.

Against North Carolina, No. 12 Julian Chlebove (133) earned a 5-3 decision over No. 23 Caden McCrary to put Arizona State behind 5-3. A tech fall and injury default brought North Carolina a quick 11-3 lead. Decisions from Parco and Wilner and a major decision from McLane put Arizona State back into it, down 15-13. Tony Negron then earned one of the victories of the day with a ranked upset over No. 6 Gavin Kane to give Arizona State a 16-15 lead at 184. North Carolina held onto the final two matches to win the dual 22-16.
