ASU and Cornell are 1-1 all-time and haven't had a dual since Jan. 21, 2007 where ASU lost 38-4. Iowa State holds the all-time record at 10-5, but ASU has won the last five matches. The two programs last met Feb. 14, 2021 where ASU walked away with a 20-15 victory. Current Sun Devils Brandon Courtney, Michael McGee, Kordell Norfleet and Cohlton Schultz all earned victories that day.

Heavy Hitters Aplenty
Arizona State rolls into the dual with five wrestlers ranked top-10 across various polls. Nine from Cornell are top-25, and seven from Iowa State are top-25. Notable athletes include three-time All-American and NCAA runner-up Brandon Courtney who could compete in his second consecutive event following Midlands. Two-time All-American and current No. 5/6 Kyle Parco will be thoroughly tested this week. He'll face three-time NCAA champion Yianni Diakomihalis on Wednesday and then No. 3 Paniro Johnson on Sunday. At 133, No. 4 Michael McGee has a shot at redemption against No. 3 Vito Arujau. The pair met in the 133 final at Cliff Keen Las Vegas a few short weeks ago where McGee lost 6-1.

Last Time Out
Arizona State is coming off the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships where four Sun Devils landed on the podium. Brandon Courtney, Kyle Parco, Julian Chlebove, & Cohlton Schultz all finished top-8, with Courtney and Parco earning silver at 125 and 149, respectively. Chlebove finished fourth at 133, and Schultz picked up third at the heavyweight division. The Sun Devils' lineup won 12 matches with bonus points, recording six falls, four major decisions and two tech fall victories. Courtney made his season debut after missing the first five events of the year due to injury. In five matches he outscored the competition 18-8 along and had a pin. He was bested by Wisconsin's Eric Barnett in the title match. Chlebove was the star at 133 this week after Michael McGee was forced to pull out of competition. Chlebove recorded two tech falls and two wins by decision in seven matches. His two losses both came against Illinois' Lucas Byrd.
