IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 5 Arizona State women's water polo team split the second day at the UC Irvine Barbara Kalbus Invitational, dropping the contest to No. 3 Hawai'i, 15-5, before winning against No. 9 UC Santa Barbara, 6-3, Saturday at the Anteater Aquatics Complex.
The Sun Devils will play the winner of tonight's game between No. 6 UC Irvine and No. 10 Michigan for fifth place in the tournament Sunday at 11:15 a.m MST.

The Sun Devils had a hard time getting the offense going early in the game and entered halftime with a 7-1 deficit to overcome. They began to find a rhythm in the second half, but it was not enough to close the gap in the match.
ASU's five goals were scored by five different players as the Sun Devils moved the ball around the pool. Chelsea Karimazondo scored her second career goal and contributed an assist and a steal. Karimazondo moved to utility this season after playing goalkeeper for her first two years as a Sun Devil.

Meghan Beaudet contributed another two goals for ASU, both of which were assisted by Blaire McDowell, who had a goal of her own. Eszter Kiss also scored and had a game-high five steals.
Goalkeeper Itzahiana Baca did well in the cage, recording eight saves and a steal.
