The Arizona State men's basketball team committed a season-high 21 turnovers -- 15 in the first half --- and had to battle back from 15- and nine-point second half deficits in a 67-65 loss at Washington State Wednesday night. ASU led 64-62 with 1:15 remaining and 65-64 with 18 second left, but a C.J. Ellenby three-pointer with four seconds left was the difference.

"We were uncharacteristically poor taking care of the ball and give credit to Washington State," said Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley. "Their pressure bothered us and we had way too many turnovers -- I think 15 at the break. That put us in a bad spot. The way we played not taking care of the ball, I think that was the difference in the game. Washington State's best player made the big shot when it mattered though. Got to tip your hat to them for that."

ASU had averaged 9.8 turnovers per game in its past six games. Romello White had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead ASU, as four Sun Devils finished in double figures.

ASU trailed 48-33 with 15:29 left but responded with an 18-3 run in the next five minutes to tie it at 51. WSU responded stretched the lead to 62-53 at the 7:40 mark.

The Sun Devils battled back to tie the game at 62 with 1:47 remaining after buckets by Romello White (6:52), Alonzo Verge Jr. (5:31), Remy Martin (4:58) and Jalen Graham (1:47).  Graham gave ASU the lead at 64-62 with 1:14 left, but Ellenby made two clutch shocks down the stretch to seal the win for WSU.
