TEMPE, Ariz. - In the final entry of the five-part preview series, we will take a look at who No. 20 Arizona State gymnastics will have returning on floor.
In 2018, floor had the highest event Regional Qualifying Score for ASU with a 49.185, including a season-high 49.400 against Arizona. Cairo Leonard-Baker scored the best score on floor in 2018 with a 9.950 against the Wildcats. In eight meets, she scored a 9.900 or better, scoring below a 9.800 just once in the season opener.
Anne Kuhm also earned her career high in the Arizona meet with a 9.925. She was another consistent on floor, earning a 9.800 or better in all but two meets. Kaitlyn Szafranski, who earned her career high of 9.875 against Minnesota, scored a 9.800-plus in all but three meets she competed in.
Two other Gym Devils notched career bests on floor in the Arizona meet as well. Jessica Ginn scored a 9.850, which she also matched against Minnesota. Heather Udowitch earned a 9.825 against the Wildcats.
A few seniors are returning solid experience on floor. Katelyn Lentz missed part of last season due to injury, but she was one of the top returners on floor going into 2018. She earned a 9.825 against California last year before her injury. Justine Callis, another senior, got a 9.800 in the meet against Minnesota last season.
Freshman Stephanie Tripodi could contribute on floor as well. She took 10th place at the 2018 JO Nationals. She has also seen success at the New Jersey State Championship where she took second in floor in 2017.

The 2019 season will begin with a quad-meet at home on Jan. 4 with No. 23 Minnesota, No. 19 Missouri and UIC.
