TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Baseball head coach Tracy Smith has announced the program's 2017 Maroon & Gold World Series, which run from Oct. 10-21.
2017 Maroon & Gold World Series Schedule
Game 1 – Tuesday, Oct. 10 – Noon
Game 2 – Wednesday, Oct. 11 – 2:15 p.m.
Game 3 – Saturday, Oct. 14 – 1:30 p.m.
Game 4 – Sunday, Oct. 15 – 9 a.m.
Game 5 – Saturday, Oct. 21 – 1 p.m.*
*Game played at Salt River Fields D-backs Field 1
The team's annual Maroon & Gold World Series, the best-of-five game intrasquad matchup, will cap off the Sun Devils' fall practice slate. It will mark the first time fans will get a chance to see the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation, boasting the likes of Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year Boyd Vander Kooi along with five more who heard their names called in the Professional Baseball Draft in June.
On top of the new additions, outfielders Gage Canning and Hunter Bishop along with infielder Lyle Lin will look to improve on their 2017 campaigns, as all three were voted to the Pac-12 All-Conference team.
The series will be held at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, with the fifth and final game held at Salt River Fields at the D-backs' Field 1. Click here for a map of Salt River Fields.
