TEMPE, Ariz. – The NCAA announced the track & field qualifiers for the West Regional on May 25-27, and the Sun Devils will be represented by 20 student-athletes in Austin, Texas.
The group is led by redshirt junior Maggie Ewen and senior Kyle Long, who both will compete in multiple events. Ewen will participate in the hammer throw, discus and shot put, while Long will throw in the hammer and discus.
Junior sprinter Drelan Bramwell will also run in two events, qualifying individually in the 400-meter dash and also running the anchor leg on the men's 4x400 relay.
A total of nine athletes will be making their first appearance at the regional meet in their respective events.
ASU will be represented in 11 field events and six track events at the University of Texas.
The top 12 athletes and 12 relay squads in each event at the NCAA West Regional will qualify for the NCAA Championships at Tracktown USA in Eugene, Ore. from June 7-10.
