TEMPE, Ariz. – Kenzi Wilson (Carmel, Ind.) has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with recent national champion ASU triathlon and is set to compete for the Sun Devils starting in 2017-18.
Wilson is an elite multisport athlete, competing in cross country, swim & dive, and track & field and was named both a Junior Elite All-American (2015) and Youth Elite All-American (2014). In 2013, she was named Most Optimistic by her cross country team as well as Hardest Working on her swim team (2013-16).
Academically, she earned Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete accolades in 2015 and is a National Honor Society member. She also received the Scholastic Art Award: Silver Key.
Representing her country, she competed for Team USA Juniors at the 2015 Monterrey CAMTRI Junior American Championship in Monterrey, Mexico.
Wilson counts the race in Monterrey her most exciting moment in sports thus far.
"It was an experience I will never forget as I was still pretty new to triathlon and it was my first international race under Team USA's Junior Team. The overall experience was great despite wrecking on lap three of the bike. I learned many lessons from that race that I continue to carry with me to this day."
Wilson joins Grace Obando and Catherine Giuseffi in this year's signing class.
