TEMPE. Ariz. – Five Sun Devil Baseball student-athletes were selected in the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, as well as 10 members of Arizona State’s 2016 signing class.
Fifty-five Sun Devils have been taken in the MLB Draft since 2010, including 14 in the past two seasons under Head Coach Tracy Smith.
ASU leads all NCAA schools with 414 total MLB draft picks, and at least one Sun Devil has been drafted every year since the draft's inception in 1965. The first-ever MLB draft pick was former Sun Devil Rick Monday.
