TEMPE -- The Arizona State track and field and cross country program wrapped up their signing class with eight new additions for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
The signees include four in-state student-athletes along with two from California and two from Canada. Two are sprinters and the other six are mid to long distance runners -- some of whom may compete in the cross country season.

"Bianca comes to us by way of the Santa Clarita Valley," said distance coach Louie Quintana. "That area has treated us well in the past, giving us Chelsey Totten, Sam Ortega and Jen Owen. She is a great competitor having run a leg on her 4x100m relay at the CIF Southern Section Championships, but has also excelled in the mile (4:52) and finished top ten at the California State Meet in cross country. She’s a sub 2:10 800m runner as well. We are excited to get her training in our program."

"Alexis rounds out our great in-state recruiting class," said Quintana. "She was very important to us in the recruiting process. We loved her competitive drive, intelligence and size. We believe that she is really coming into her own as a distance runner thanks to great guidance from her high school coach at Chandler High School. We are absolutely pumped that she will be joining us this fall."

"Megan is a local product out of Arcadia High School and already has steeplechase experience under her belt," said Quintana.
