TEMPE, Ariz. (by Jessica Schott, ASU Media Relations) - Brock Osweiler threw two touchdown passes to Aaron Pflugrad, Cameron Marshall ran for two more scores and set a new career-high with 86-yards receiving as Arizona State opened the season with a 48-14 win over UC Davis Thursday night.

The new logo at midfield was not the only thing on fire, as the Sun Devils also showed speed up and down the field.  Marshall had a pair of two-yard runs resulting in the first two Arizona State touchdowns, while Marcus Washington added a touchdown run of his own.  Osweiler threw both of his TD passes to Aaron Pflugrad, while kicker Alex Garoutte, making his Sun Devil debut, was 2-2 on field goals, including a 49-yarder at the end of the first half.

Jamal Miles opened up the second half with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the second of his career. It was the sixth kickoff return for touchdown ASU has had under Dennis Erickson, the most under any coach in school history.

Arizona State’s defense once again put on a commanding performance holding UC Davis to 243-yards of total offense.  Aggie QB Randy Wright was 16-28 for 130 yards. He was sacked three times by junior linebacker Vontaze Burfict and once each by sophomore defensive end Junior Onyeali and senior linebacker Oliver Aaron.
