Box Score

TEMPE, Ariz. – Powered with a three-hit complete game shutout from Dallas Escobedo and some fireworks from the Sun Devil offense, the No. 5 ASU Softball team collected their 19th run rule win of the year with an 8-0 (5) victory over UCSB. The Sun Devils move to 31-2 overall on the year as Dallas Escobedo pushes her record to 14-1 while UCSB moves to an even 12-12 overall.

With Dallas Escobedo locked in for three perfect innings, a six-run second inning awaited ASU as five different Sun Devils drove in runs to share in the RBI party as Talor Haro, Katelyn Boyd, Lesley Rogers, Sam Parlich and Annie Lockwood splattered hits all over the field to keep the Gauchos on their toes to rocket to a 6-0 lead after two complete.

With Escobedo wheeling and dealing in the circle with nine strikeouts against UCSB her right fielder helped her to end the game a little earlier as Krista Donnenwirth singled up the middle to start the fourth inning only to see Annie Lockwood send a 2-0 pitch to the heavens for her sixth longball of the season and pull ASU to their 8-0 lead.

The Sun Devils will match-up again with the Gauchos tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Tempe at Farrington Stadium as the three game series rolls on. Tomorrow night’s game will also be ASU’s annual pink-out game for breast cancer awareness. Be there and be pink!
