Pac-10 Championships Recap

The Arizona State Women's gymnastics team returned to Pauley Pavilion for the second time this season to compete in the 2011 Pac-10 Championships. Oregon State topped No.2 Stanford to take first place in the competition with a 197.200 while UCLA took second with a 196.750.

The Gym Devils began the competition on floor, where Madison Snowden led the Sun Devils tallying a solid 9.800. Brittany Schuett scored a solid 9.700. Samantha Seaman first pass was full of energy and she stepped out of bounds on her second pass to score a 9.675. Beaté Jones scored a 9.450 after she hit her first two passes then took several steps into out of bounds on her last pass of a double back. Christina Salavec stepped out of bounds on her first pass and landed short on her last pass falling to earn a 8.875. Paige Castillo performed her floor debut of the season tallying a 8.375. The Gym Devils compiled a floor total of 47.200.

Moving to vault in the second rotation, Seaman nailed her full twist to lead the Gym Devils with a 9.825. Jones, Price and Schuett all hit scores of 9.750 Jones soared high on her twist, Price hit her landing and Schuett took a small step on her landing. Carly McMahon took a small hop on her landing to post a 9.600. Stephanie Hangartner fell scoring a 9.000. The Gym Devils posted a vault team score of 48.675.

On bars, Emily Warfield hit her back-to-back releases and had one step on landing to score a 9.725. Jones hit her routine scoring a 9.700. Hangartner took one step on her landing to post a 9.650. Salavec fell on her release to score an 8.575. Seaman was loose on her blind change leading her to have a mishap in her routine to post a 8.375.Kelly Reilly fell on two handstands scoring a 7.650. The Gym Devils struggled with several falls to compile a bar total of 46.025.

Finishing the competition on beam where Snowden nailed a clean routine tying a season-high of 9.850.Jones had a small wobble on her front tuck but otherwise stuck her routine to tally a 9.750. Salavec had a big wobble on front tuck scoring a 9.700. Reilly had a few small wobbles scoring a 9.650. Seaman fell on her mount posting a 9.250. Schuett had one big wobble but nailed the rest of her routine to score a 9.600 in her beam debut this season. The Gym Devils posted a beam total of 48.550 to conclude the competition.

The Gym Devils scored a team total of 190.450.
