Final Stats

The Arizona State University women's swimming team claimed second place as the Mizzou Invite came to a close. The Sun Devils scored 839 points over the course of the weekend to finish runner-up to host Missouri. The men's team took fifth with 416 points. Additionally, diving competed at the Ohio State Invitational.

Mizzou Invite
Jordyn Green continued her dominance of the breast stroke as she swam away with the 200 breast title. The Reno, Nev., native clocked in at 2:14.35, her fastest of the season by over two seconds. The time is under the NCAA "B" cut. Green's fellow sophomore, Penelope Yamauchi, won the "B" final in 2:19.32.

In the 200 fly, Xavier Mohammed won his third event of the meet. Finishing in 1:49.58, Mohammed out-touched his closest opponent by about a second. Freshman James Rigg won the "B" final in 1:54.05. The 200 fly was also successful for the women. Sophomore Shoshanna Rutemiller, arguably the Sun Devils' most improved swimmer, placed second finishing in 2:03.38. Freshman Caroline Kuczynski touched the pad at 2:05.96 to finish seventh.

Two more NCAA consideration times were reached in the 200 back. Jamie Martinez, the ASU record-holder in the event, earned an NCAA "B" cut of 1:58.72 while finishing second. Paige Schultz raced to a fourth place finish with a time of 2:02.09. Mohammed placed second in the 200 back, earning an NCAA consideration time of 1:45.15. Senior Max Laney placed fifth at 1:50.09.

Ashley Evans took third in the 100 free, touching the pad 50.87. Freshman Shannon Landgrebe clocked in at fourth, finishing in 51.09 while Haron was right behind her at 51.57. On the men's side, Jesper Akesson swam a 46.62 to place sixth with Nolan Ruane finishing in seventh at 47.10.

The 1,650 free brought in several strong Sun Devil swims as well. Transfer Ashley Daly finished the mile in 17:01.22 to place second. Junior Shannon Garrett was right behind her at 17:05.20, finishing third. Freshman Caleb Veazey also placed third, finishing in 15:53.71.

The 400 free relay team of Schultz, Landgrebe, Evans and Haron tallied together 3:24.35, which is just under the NCAA "B" cut. The time was good enough for second.

Ohio State Invitational
Elina Eggers placed second on the platform to conclude the Sun Devils time in Ohio. The Swede earned a point total of 263.70, an NCAA "A" score. Chris Pasanella also competed on the tower, tallying 206.60.
