Men's basketball player Wilfried Fameni has earned second-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors, the league has announced. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Fameni averaged 6.7 minutes in 23 games this year but was bothered by a knee injury most of the season that required postseason surgery. He has played in 49 games in his two-year career and has averaged 10.8 minutes, 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Other Sun Devils who have earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors under Rob Evans include Bobby Lazor (1999), three-time honoree Shawn Redhage (2001-2003) and three-time honoree Justin Allen (2002-2004).
