Tennis senior Hein to compete at Riviera Championship (State Press/Oct. 4, 2010)

2009-10: Qualified as an individual to the NCAA Singles Championships... made it to the second round of the NCAA Championship... played No. 1 singles for the second half of the season... earned wins over five Top 100 players, including then No. 6 Yasmin Schnack... named to the Pac-10 Second Team... named Pac-10 Player of the Week on March 9... received Second-Team Pac-10 All-Academic honors.

2008-09: Named an All-American in doubles... had a solid season despite overcoming several injuries... ended the season ranked 18th in doubles with partner Kelcy McKenna... advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships with McKenna to earn All-American honors... went 23-11 with McKenna in doubles... tallied a 17-9 singles record including a 9-3 record in dual matches... finished the season ranked 93rd overall... earned Pac-10 Second-Team All-Academic accolades... named an ITA Scholar Athlete for the second straight season


2007-2008: Started off with a great first year playing for the Sun Devils... recorded a total of 21 wins in singles play, third best on the team... recorded 5 wins with partner Jessica Leitch... went 2-0 with partner Wendy Pilecka... recorded 17 wins with partner Kelcy McKenna... and yet another win with Ashlee Brown... giving her 40 total wins in doubles play... named ITA Scholar Athlete


High School/Juniors: Was a winner in the Southern California Doubles Sectionals... was a finalist in three singles tournaments in 2007, namely the Fullerton Junior Tournament, the Orange County Open and the Los Caballeros Junior Tournament... was ranked #8 in Southern California in singles and #1 in doubles.

Personal: Born March 11, 1989 in Mission Viejo, California... parents are Grant and Stacy Hein... majoring in Communications... full name is Micaela Carissa Hein... has two sisters, Nakieta (18)and Kiana (17).
