Emma Nordin Season 2021-22

One of 30 finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year, which recognizes student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership (Oct. 13, 2022)

Named the female recipient of ASU's Kajikawa Award in 2021-22, given annually to one male and one female graduating senior student-athlete in recognition for his and her contributions at Arizona State University in honor of legendary Sun Devil Bill Kajikawa (April 25, 2022)

REDSHIRT SENIOR (2021-22)

• Named a CSCAA First-Team Scholar All-American
• Competed at the NCAA Championships, in which she placed 14th in the 500 free and 16th in the 1650 free while also racing in the 200 free and 800 free relay (3/16-3/19)
• Competed at her last Pac-12 Championships, in which she placed third in both the 1650 free and 800 free relay, 8th in the 500 free and 14th in the 200 free (2/23-2/26)
• In the final regular season meet of her Sun Devil career, won the 500 and 1000 free against Arizona (2/5)
• Placed third in the 500 free against Cal (1/22)
• Finished second in the 400 free relay and third in the 500 free against Stanford (1/21)
• Had a historic week at the NC State Invite, in which she set school records in the 1000 free (9:30.44) and the 1650 free (15:47.15), while also winning the 200 and 500 free and placing third in the 800 free relay and fourth in the 400 free relay
• Won the 1000 free, finished second in the 500 free and fourth in the 400 free relay on 11/6 against USC
• Won the 1000 free and 800 free relay and placed second in the 500 free on 11/5 against UCLA
• Won the 1000 and 500 free against Washington State (10/16)

SENIOR (2020-21)

• No regular season; entire roster redshirted

JUNIOR (2019-20)

• Won the 1000 and placed second in the 500 free against Utah (10/25)
• Won both the 500 and 1000 free against USC (11/1)
• Won both the 500 and 1000 free against UCLA (11/2)
• Won the mile and placed seventh in the 200 free and ninth in the 500 free at the NC State Wolfpack Invitational
• Won both the 500 and 1000 free against Northwestern (1/4)
• Took second in both the 400 and 800 free against Kansas (1/11)
• Placed second in the 500 and 1000 free against Stanford (1/24)
• Won the 500 free and placed second in the 1000 against Cal (1/25)
• Won all three events she competed in the 200, 500 and 1000 free against Texas (1/31)
• Won all three events she competed in the 200, 500 and 1000 free against Arizona (2/8)
• Won her first ever Pac-12 Championship in the 500 free while taking second in both the mile and 200 free

SOPHOMORE (2018-19)

• Won the 500 free and placed third in the 200 free against Oregon State (10/5)
• Won the 500 free and placed second in the 1000 free against Florida State (10/25)
• Won the 500 free against USC (11/2)
• Placed second the 200 free and third in the 500 and 1000 free against UCLA (11/3)
• Placed fifth in the 200 free, sixth in the 500 free, fourth in the mile and 21st in the 100 free at the Indiana Invitational
• Won both the 500 and 1000 free against Washington State (1/12)
• Won the 1000 free and placed third in the 500 free against Cal (1/25)
• Took third in the 500 free against Stanford (1/26)
• Placed second in the 1000 free against Arizona (2/9)
• Represented the Sun Devils at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships in the 500 free (fifth), mile (fourth) and 200 free (11th)
• Competed at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the mile (ninth) and 200 and 500 free

FRESHMAN (2017-18)

• Swam 3 of the top-10 times in the 200 free (2, 3, 8) and the 6th fastest time in the 500 free
• Swam ASU's 6th fastest 1000 free
• Swam ASU's 2nd & 4th fastest 1650 free

HIGH SCHOOL 

• Broke the Carmel High School freestyle record in 2015 and, with her high school team, broke the national record with their 30th consecutive state win in 2015.
• Also excelling academically, Nordin was a four-year Scholar-Athlete (2013-17) and a National Honor Society member
