CAREER NOTES
  • In only two seasons, has emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in the country and is on her way to being one of the greatest in program history.
  • Set program record for shutouts as a sophomore in 2023.
  • Has been a member of German national teams since 2016: U15, U16, U17, U20.
  • Competed with the German National Team at the U20 World Cup in Costa Rica.
  • Earned All-Pac-12 third-team honors and was named to the league’s All-Freshman team in 2022.
2023 (SOPHOMORE)
  • Earned All-Pac-12 Second-Team honors after one of the best seasons by a goalkeeper in program history.
  • Played every minute (1899:00) in goal for the Sun Devils, had a 0.96 goals-against-average and .804 save percentage.
  • Set the program record for shutouts in a season with a Pac-12 leading nine (second in the Pac-12) while ranking second in the conference in save percentage and fifth in GAA.  
2022 (FRESHMAN)
  • After missing the season opener due to her participation with the German National Team at the U20 World Cup in Costa Rica, Nelles went on to start ASU’s next 17 games. In those 17 games, she played 1475 out of a possible 1530 minutes.
  • Earned All-Pac-12 third-team honors and was named to the league’s All-Freshman team in 2022.
  • After combining with Birta Gudlaugsdotti for team’s first shutout of the season in   ASU’s 5-0 win over Grambling State (Sept. 14), Nelles earned her first complete game shutout in ASU’s ensuing contest, a 5-0 win over Toledo (Sept. 18). 
  • Collected her second shutout and made a career-high nine saves in ASU's 0-0 tie vs. Utah (Oct. 14).
  • Nelles followed her outstanding performance vs. Utah with seven saves in ASU's 2-0 win at Washington State (Oct. 20). It was just the second time up to that points in the season (15 games) that WSU failed to score.  The win over WSU was one of ASU's biggest of the season as it ended an 0-3-1 winless streak. 
PRIOR TO ASU
  • Has been a member German national teams since 2016: U15, U16, U17, U20.
  • Made her debut in the national jersey on May 26, 2016 in the 1-0 win of the U15 national team against the Czech Republic. 
  • Made six appearances for the U-16 national team.
  • Qualified with the U-17 national team for the European Championship in Bulgaria in 2019. There she played all five tournament games and was instrumental in the German team's title win in the 3-2 final win against the Netherlands with four shots saved on penalties. 
  • Joined the German U-20 national the U-20 Women's World Cup played in Costa Rica in August 2022.
