Prior to ASU...
A versatile player for Cactus high school, Torres made appearances at both shortstop and catcher during her high school playing days … earned MaxPreps Freshman player of the year honors following her first season of high school play… four-time All Arizona and West Region Player of the year …. Finished the Gatorade player of the year runner up … never hit below .500 in any of her seasons, recording a season-high .653 batting average during her senior season … has proven to be an elite hitter, finishing her high school playing career with 141 extra-base hits, including 64 home runs … completed her high school playing career with 271 hits, 249 RBI and 242 runs scored … has maintained a .602 batting average as a varsity player, helping her to a .655 OBP … chose ASU over the University of Arizona, Missouri, and Oklahoma… chose to come to ASU because of the atmosphere, coaching staff and the ability to play in front of her family.
- Continued her momentum from the Sophomore season, she was named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team and was selected to the 2022 All-Pac-12 First team.
- Compiled a .339 batting average, she hit 14 of her 16 home runs during conference play which ranked third on the team in home runs overall.
- Had an eight-game hitting streak which included 11 hits, six home runs and 11 RBIs.
- Ranked third on the team with hits (59), third in slugging% (.707) fourth on the team in RBIs (40).
- Appeared in all 54 games for the Sun Devils at short stop and started in 53 for ASU.
Sophomore (2021)
- Started every game for the Sun Devils in her sophomore year.
- Had two multi-home run games against the University of New Mexico on 2/28 and the University of Arizona on 4/17.
- Torres tore it up on offensively, hitting .273 with 12 home runs, 34 RBIs and 11 walks.
- Held it down at the shortstop position with a .953 fielding percentage, 52 putouts and 89 assists.
- Ranked second on the team with 12 home runs.
- Torres was a regular in the ASU lineup starting all twenty-nine games at shortstop during the abbreviated season - one of only two freshmen starters
- She tied the team-high with nine home runs in addition to 34 hits and 31 RBI, which placed her at No. 47 in Softball America’s Top 100
- Hit her first collegiate home run on Feb. 7 against Kansas
- Ranks 15th nationally and 2nd in the Pac-12 for home runs
- Ended her first season with a .802 slugging percentage, a mark that ranked second on the team and third in the Pac-12
- Carded a .923 field percentage, including 37 putouts and 46 assists
- Ran through 69 total bases – one less than Kindra Hackbarth’s team-high - and earned 31 RBI – one less than Maddi Hackbarth’s team-high
- Out of the five players that started every single game, Torres struck out the fewest and only a mere six times
- Defensively, Torres put out 36 opponents which tied for third with fellow freshman, catcher Macy Simmons
