FINAL SUN DEVIL CAREER NOTES
*First-team 2009-10 All-Pac-10 and 2010-11 honorable mention All-Pac-10 performer.
*Posted 1,330 career points, which ended 14th on the ASU career list.
*His 119 starts is second on the ASU career chart and just one shy of Jeff Pendergraph's mark of 120 while his 130 games is second only to Derek Glasser's 131.
*Finished on the ASU career charts in the top-10 in three-pointers made (273/third), three-point attempts (757/third) and steals (133/tenth).
*Finished second on the Sun Devil career chart for minutes played. Eddie House has the career mark, playing in 124 games from 1996-2000 while notching 4,164 minutes (33.6 per game). Abbott finished with 4,019 minutes, just the second Sun Devil to play 4,000 career minutes.
*His 273 career threes is eighth on Pac-10 career chart while 757 career three attempts is fifth.
*Finished career with 12 20-point games, including five in 2010-11.
*Led Sun Devils in scoring 11 times in 2010-11 and 23 times in his career.
*In junior season (2009-10) he got past an early season right knee injury that slowed him until December and was all business as he averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 boards in the final 18 games and knocked down .406 of his three-pointers in that time (56-of-138) en route to earning first-team All-Pac-10 honors.
*Athletic wing and local player who was a late pick-up in the spring of 2007, as he got his release from New Mexico (who he signed with in the fall of 2006) when the Lobos changed coaches from Ritchie McKay to Steve Alford.
*Quietly posted one of the best freshman seasons in the Pac-10 in 2007-2008, but was overshadowed by four freshman lottery picks. Only three freshmen posted 30 point-games that season, lottery picks O.J. Mayo and Jerryd Bayless and Abbott.
*Played his AAU ball for former Arizona interim coach and current Grand Canyon mentor Russ Pennell.
*Set school record for freshmen starts (34) and freshmen three-pointers made (76), and the 76 three-pointers is fourth-best by a freshman in Pac-10 history.

TY PART OF BEST SENIOR CLASS IN SCHOOL HISTORY
The 2010-11 Sun Devil senior class of Ty Abbott, Rihards Kuksiks and Jamelle McMillan produced 80 wins, the most by any seniors in ASU history. The Sun Devils were 21-13 (2007-08), 25-10 (2008-09), and 22-11 (2009-10) in their first three seasons. Prior to their arrival, ASU won 37 games in the previous four seasons. ASU's best four-year span of total wins was 88 from 1959-60 to 1962-63 and also from 1960-61 to 1963-64, but that was before freshmen were eligible. The 80 wins by each of the seniors is the best by any four-year player, as Gary Jackson (1973-76) was with the program for 79 wins.

1. 1961-1964: 88

PUTTING UP BIG NUMERS:
ASU has had two NBA draft picks under Herb Sendek, but in Pac-10 games Ty Abbott has three of the top six Pac-10 scoring games since Herb Sendek came to ASU.

MOST POINTS BY A SUN DEVIL IN A PAC-10 GAME UNDER HERB SENDEK (THROUGH 2010-11)
36, James Harden at Oregon (Feb. 5, 2009)
31, Jeff Pendergraph at Stanford (Jan. 2, 2009)
30, Ty Abbott vs. California (Feb. 16, 2008)
29, Ty Abbott vs. Stanford (Jan. 30, 2010)
29, Jeff Pendergraph at Arizona (Feb. 10, 2008)
28, Ty Abbott at Arizona (Feb. 21, 2010)

PAC-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ty Abbott scored 22 points in each contest as ASU swept its final home games of the 2010-11 season over Oregon (73-53 on March 3) and Oregon State (80-66 on March 5), and that earned him March 7 Pac-10 Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career. He joined Eddie House (five times), Ike Diogu (four), Mario Bennett (three) and James Harden (three) as Sun Devils to win the award on multiple occasions. Abbott also earned the honor on Jan. 10, 2010, and on Dec. 17, 2007.

WHY FIRST-TEAM ALL-PAC-10 IN 2009-10
If you take a look at the overall Pac-10 statistics from 2009-10, Ty Abbott's names didn't pop up in bold letters. But that is because he got it done during league play. In the 18 league tilts, he finished ninth in the loop in scoring (14.7 ppg.), 11th in rebounding (5.7 per game), ninth in free throw percentage (.818 as he was 36-of-44), fourth in three-point percentage (.411 as he was 53-of-129), second in three-pointers made per game (2.9) and sixth in defensive rebounds per game (5.0). He also earned Pac-10 Player of the Week for the second time in his career after notching 17 points in each win as ASU swept the Washington duo on Jan. 8-10 in Tempe. And finally, you have to look far and wide for a player who improved more than him from one Pac-10 season to the next. In 2008-09 he shot 19-of-86 (.221) from the floor, 8-of-59 (.136) from the three-point stripe and averaged 2.9 points and 3.7 boards.

LOCAL GUY NOTE
Ty Abbott became just the 12th Arizona high school player to earn All-Pac-10 honors and the fourth Sun Devil from the Grand Canyon State to earn the honor when he earned first-team in 2009-10. The last local Sun Devil to earn All-Pac-10 honors was Greenway High School's Chad Prewitt in 2001-02.

THIS MADE SPARKY REALLY HAPPY
Ty had a monster game in Tucson on Feb. 21, 2010, that made Sun Devil fans extremely happy as he notched 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-8 three pointers in a season high 39 minutes in 73-69 win, ASU's third straight win in Tucson. How noteworthy was that? ASU became just the third team to win three straight in McKale in the past 28 seasons. Stanford won four straight from 2001-2004 and UCLA won three straight from 2006-08.
