Williams Accepts Invitation To Team USA Collegiate National Team
TEMPE, Ariz. - Sixteen Arizona state student-athletes will play summer baseball in 2012. The Sun Devils will be represented on nine different teams in six leagues, including Team USA, the Cape Cod Baseball League and the West Coast League.
Twelve-game winner Trevor Williamswill compete for the USA Collegiate National Team, marking the third Sun Devil in the past two seasons and the 19th total to play for the Red, White and Blue.
Three different Sun Devil trios will play on the same team over the summer. Nathaniel Causey and Jake Peevyhousewill also be in the West Coast League with the Bellingham Bells.
McAlister is competing for the Elks for the second consecutive summer, and is the only Sun Devil returning to their same 2011 summer league team.
Trever Allen, Michael Benjamin and Drew Stankiewicz are all headed to the Northwoods League. Allen and Stankiewicz will play for the Mankato Moondogs, and Benjamin will compete with the Rochester Honkers.
Adam McCreery, playing for the Cotuit Kettleers, is the only Sun Devil going to Cape Cod, and L Grant Davis and Kyle Bilbrey are headed to the California Collegiate League, where Davis will work with the Santa Barbara Foresters and Bilbrey will compete for Team Vegas Baseball Club.
