Trevor Williams Accepts Invitation To Team USA Collegiate National Team

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State sophomore right-hander Trevor Williams has accepted an invitation to play for the Team USA Collegiate National Team. The team will begin its summer schedule against three teams from the Coastal Plain Collegiate Baseball League.

Williams, a native of San Diego, Calif., has pitched 63.2 innings this season and is tied for first in the Pac-12 in wins with seven and ranks second in the conference with a 1.41 ERA. In 10 appearances this season, including nine starts, he has given up 48 hits and 10 earned runs while striking out 28 and walking 10. He earned a starting role at the beginning of this season after earning Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American honors as a reliever last year.

The Collegiate National Team's summer will conclude with a five-game series against Cuba, which begins July 5 and ends July 9, as well as the Honkbal-Haarlem Baseball Week at Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem, The Netherlands, from July 14-22.

With one member so far this year and two members last season, Arizona State now has sent a total of 19 student-athletes to play for the Red, White and Blue.
