Pac-10 All-Academic Men's Hoops Team in PDF Format 
Two Sun Devil men's basketball players have been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic squad, the league announced Tuesday.
Junior Derek Glasser was a first-team selection while sophomore Rihards Kuksiks was a second-team pick. Glasser is a junior communications major while Kuksiks is a sophomore business communications major.
Glasser averaged 8.8 points on the year and has played 98 games in his ASU career. He earned 2009 Pac-10 All-Tournament honors by averaging 13.7 points in the three games and shot 16-of-31 (.516) from the field, 5-of-11 (.455) from the three-point stripe and had 12 assists and just four turnovers while averaging 37.3 minutes per game. He averaged 13 points per game in his final six games, including a career-high 22 in the NCAA first-round win against Temple on March 20. He played 42 minutes without a turnover in the Jan. 17 overtime win at ninth-ranked UCLA. He is 182-of-221 (.824) from the free throw line and has played 18 turnover free games in his 98-game career. He will have a good chance to break two ASU career records next year, as his 98 games played is just 28 short of the recently set record of 126 by Jeff Pendergraph (2005-2009). Glasser's 393 assists already is seventh in ASU history and he is just 61 short of matching the Sun Devil record of 454 set by Bobby Thompson from 1983-87.
Glasser led the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2), was second in the league at 4.8 assists per game, sixth in the league in free throw shooting at 83.2 percent (89-of-107) and eighth in the league in three-point shooting at 41.3 percent (45-of-109).
Kuksiks averaged 10.3 points (third-best on the team) and shot 44.3 percent from the three-point stripe, making 93-of-210. The 93 three-pointers is the third-best in school history, while the 44.3 percent shooting is tied for the fourth-best in school history. The Latvian native has made 129-of-308 (.419) three-pointers in his two-year career and posted a career-high 20 points in the NCAA Tournament second-round loss to Syracuse with six three-pointers. He is averaging 10.7 points in his past 27 games, including 81-of-179 (.452) from the three-point stripe, and posted double digits in 17 of his final 26 games and his 2.7 three-pointers made per game is second in the Pac-10.
ASU went 25-10 this year, its most wins since the 1974-75 team went 25-4.
