Niklas Lemke Earns First-Team All-American Honors

Previous Sun Devil Men's Golf All-Americans

Sun Devil senior Niklas Lemke has been named a PING Division I Men's All-America selection by the Golf Coaches Association of America. A total of 10 players comprised the first team.

Lemke made the first-team along with Rhys Davies of East Tennessee State, Florida's Billy Horschel, Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina, Chris Kirk and Brendon Todd of Georgia, 2007 NCAA champion Jamie Lovemark of Southern California, Clemson's Kyle Stanley and Dawie van der Walt of Lamar.

Second- and third-team All-Americans, as well as honorable mention selections will be announced next week.

Lemke earned 2007 Pac-10 co-Player of the Year and finished the year with a 70.03 stroke average, third-best in school history behind Paul Casey in 1999-2000 (69.87) and Phil Mickelson in 1991-92 (69.95). He posted eight top-five finishes on the year and 14 top-10 finishes in his 48-tournament career (72.10 stroke average). He earned third-team All-America honors last year and honorable mention in 2005.
