Men's Golf in Second Place in Tucson

Tucson, Ariz. - The Arizona State men's golf team is in second place after the first two rounds of the 2007 National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. ASU shot a 1-under 287 in the first round and a 9-under 279 in the second round to finish the second round at 10-under (566). The Sun Devils are two strokes off current leader Tulsa (564).

Individually, sophomore All-American Benjamin Alvarado Holley leads ASU after shooting a 3-under 69 in the first round and 2-under 70 in the second round to finish 5-under (139) on the day. Alvarado Holley is tied for second place. Senior All-American Niklas Lemke is close behind finishing with a two round total of 4-under 140. Lemke shot a 2-over 74 in the first round but made up for it in the second round, shooting a 6-under 66. Lemke is tied for fourth. Freshman Knut Borsheim is tied for 24th after shooting a two-day total of 1-over 145 (70-75). Sophomore Steele DeWald and senior Fredrik Andersson are tied for 34th after shooting a two-day total of 2-over 146 (75-71), (74-72), respectively.

The final round of the 2007 National Invitational Tournament concludes tomorrow.
