ASU Spring Football Game Format Announced

TEMPE, Ariz. (www.thesundevils.com) -- On Saturday, April 15 the Arizona State University football team will compete in its annual spring football game at 2:30 p.m. in Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field. The two teams will each have one offensive captain and one defensive captain. The captains will draft their teammates to form the two teams and the teams will not be known until the day of the annual spring football game April 15.

The Sun Devil football team will be divided into two units, maroon and white. The offensive team captains will be sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter (Westlake, Calif.) and senior quarterback Sam Keller (Danville, Calif.). The defensive captains are junior safety Josh Barrett (Reno, Nev.) and senior safety Zach Catanese (Redding, Calif.).

The annual spring football game will take on a regular game format with kicking situations. There will be a running clock with a set number of drives per quarter. The game format is subject to change.

Gates will open at 1:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 2:30 p.m. The southeast and the North gates will be open for entrance into the stadium. Seating will be on the West side of Sun Devil Stadium on the lower level only. There will also be concession stands open for those in attendance.

Before the spring football game, the annual Pat's Run will take place in Tempe and end on the 42-yard line in Sun Devil Stadium. Pat's Run is a fundraiser for the Pat Tillman Foundation, which honors the former ASU football player who was killed while serving for the U.S. Army Rangers in Afghanistan.
