The Arizona State men's golf team shot an even 288, the second-best round of the day and a 23-stroke improvement from the first round, in the second round of the Southern Highland Collegiate Championship held in Las Vegas.
Two Sun Devils have moved into a tie for tenth, as Alejandro Canizares (78-70=148/+4) and Benjamin Alvarado Holley (77-71=148/+4) lead the way for ASU. Not far behind is Niklas Lemke, who is tied for 13th at 5-over 149 (76-73).
Erik Coover is tied for 47th at 10-over 154 (80-74) while Steele DeWald is at 16-over 160 (82-78).
All of the Sun Devils improved their scores from the first round.
Host UNLV leads the pack at 13-over 589 (295-294), while ASU is tied with Florida at 23-over 599. ASU shot 311-288.
The final round is Sunday.
