Six Sun Devils have been named to the 2004 Pac-10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic teams, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced this week.

Senior forward Jen Albert has been named to the All-Academic First Team for the third consecutive year. Albert, who carries a 3.85 GPA in elementary education, is the first Sun Devil in school history to earn first-team all-academic honors three times in her career. It also marks the fourth straight year that ASU has had at least one first-team all-academic honoree.

Junior guard Carrie Buckner has been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second team. For Buckner, who carries a 3.40 GPA in biology, it is her second all-academic honor after being named to the first team last year.

ASU also had four players named to the Pac-10 All-Academic honorable-mention squad including juniors Betsy Boardman, Kylan Loney and Lauren Stagg and sophomore Amy Denson. It marks the second all-academic honor for both Boardman and Loney, while Stagg and Denson have earned all-academic honors for the first time in their careers.

Earlier this year, Boardman was also named to the 2004 Academic All-America District VIII second team. It is the first academic all-district honor for Boardman who carries a 3.26 GPA in communication.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-10 All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.
