Sun Devil outlook
No. 11 Arizona State (11-3, 2-1 Big 12)

  • ASU played just one match last weekend, hosting Iowa State and winning in four sets. The Sun Devils are now 3-1 at home this season and 41-3 under fourth-year head coach JJ Van Niel.
  • Under Van Niel, ASU has 20 ranked wins, including four so far this season. His teams are 20-11 against top-25 opponents.
  • The dynamic duo of senior opposite Noemie Glover and junior outside Una Vajagić continues to be a force for Arizona State. They are just two kills apart in their season totals, Glover with 196 and Vajagić with 194. They both have notched double-digit kills in the last eight matches in a row.
  • Vajagić has been a double-double machine for ASU recently. She has earned a double-double in the last three matches in a row and in five of the last six.
  • The setting duties have recently been split between senior Isabella Costantini and freshman Elle Mottola, with both pacing the offense. In the last match, both notched over 20 assists.
  • Serving remains a strength for the Sun Devils. Junior Piper Rama leads the team with 24 and is 21st in the NCAA for aces per set (.56). Two others have double-digit aces as well this season: Costantini (16) and Vajagić (15).

Opponent outlook
No. 23 Colorado (11-3, 2-2 Big 12)

  • Over the weekend, the Buffs split their road conference matches, falling at No. 9 TCU before bouncing back with a win at No. 21 Baylor.
  • ASU and Colorado faced each other twice in 2025, with the Sun Devils winning both contests to extend their winning streak over the Buffs to five straight. Arizona State leads 17-13 in the all-time series.

No. 8 TCU (13-2, 4-0 Big 12)

  • The Horned Frogs are on an 11-match winning streak, which they added to with two wins over the weekend. TCU beat No. 24 Colorado and UCF, both at home. TCU is currently first in the Big 12.
  • The Sun Devils and Horned Frogs have met just twice before, both in Big 12 play and both times seeing ASU as the victor. Last season, Arizona State won at home in four sets.
