Tournament details
ASU is one of seven top-25 ranked teams in the field, which includes No. 2 Auburn and No. 10 Florida. The Gators are the defending champions. They shot 15 under par a year ago to win the team title by a dozen strokes over Texas. UNC tied for third place with Louisville. The Tar Heels had won the title in each of the tournament's first four seasons. The event honors Carolina's Hall of Fame men's basketball coach Roy Williams and his wife, Wanda, for their support of collegiate athletics, including the men's golf program.

Last time out
ASU is coming off a strong outing at the Big 12 Match Play Championship, where it tied for first as bad weather cancelled the final match at The Country Club of Salt Lake. ASU topped both Iowa State and then Utah 4-1 to get things started early in the week, tied BYU at 2.5 and then topped Texas Tech 3-2 to finish the week. Peer Wernicke led the way with a 3-0 mark, while Connor Williams was 3-0-1 and Bowen Mauss 3-1, with Oscar Couilleau going 2-1.
