SAN DIEGO - Sun Devil Men's Tennis (8-0) defeated Princeton 4-3 in Saturday's regional final at Hogan Tennis Center to earn one of 16 spots in the ITA Indoor National Championship that is set for Feb. 13-17 in Waco, Texas. ASU also improved its season-opening win streak to a program-best eight matches. Last season ASU did not reach the eight-win mark until March 15, but has done so two weeks into the season.
This is the second time in three seasons that ASU is advancing to the ITA Indoor National Championship after punching their ticket on Saturday. In 2023-24 the Maroon and Gold reached the tournament in New York but fell to the consolation match and won one of three matches.
For the second time this weekend ASU did not clinch the doubles point, but it did not matter as the team picked up four singles wins to secure a 4-3 win. Sophomore Ofek Shimanov defeated his 98-ranked singles opponents en route to the victory.
