TEMPE – On Friday, Sept. 11, Sun Devil Soccer will not only close out the non-conference portion of its regular season against Grambling State at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium, but the program will also honor its eight senior student-athletes prior to the 7 p.m. MST kickoff on ESPN+.

Television

  • Ryan Sykora (play-by-play) and Adrian Pelayo (analyst) will call Friday evening’s action on ESPN+, which will be available to stream on either the Disney+, ESPN or Hulu apps.

Series history

  • Arizona State will look to improve on its current 2-0-0 all-time record against Grambling State when the Sun Devils square off against the Tigers this Friday.
  • The previous two meetings between Arizona State and Grambling State have occurred during the 2022 and 2024 seasons with the Sun Devils winning 5-0 and 2-0, respectively, heading into the 2026 matchup.
  • In the previous two matches between the two programs, one Arizona State Sun Devil has turned in either a hat trick or brace performance.
    • In 2022, Nicole Douglas recorded a hat trick – in just 20 minutes – during the first half.
      • The performance is one of just 13 hat tricks in program history.
    • Two years later, Keri Matthews posted a two-goal outing – in just nine minutes – throughout the second half.

Kicking off

  • Friday’s match will represent the program’s ‘Senior Night,’ when the Sun Devils will honor Lucy Fazackerley, Peyton Marcisz, Addison Haws, Miki Hayashi, Emmie Ennis, Natalie Drotzmann, Ella Opkvitne and Izzy Monck.
    • After beginning her collegiate soccer career with a two-season stint (2023-24) at East Carolina, Fazackerley has totaled 2052:55 minutes played with 11 total points (four goals, three assists) in 26 matches played as a Sun Devil.
    • Much like Fazackerley, Marcisz opened her collegiate soccer career with a two-season stay (2023-24) at UCLA, before transferring to Tempe, where she’s played 2015:58 with 10 points (four assists, three goals) in 26 matches played in.
    • Haws has been credited with two assists in 700 minutes played across 24 matches as a Sun Devil.
    • After spending two seasons at Tyler (Texas) Junior College, Hayashi will surpass 500 minutes played as a Sun Devil the next time she steps on the pitch, marking her 11th appearance in Maroon and Gold.
    • Ennis has made an immediate impact at Arizona State – after playing in 50 matches in a three-season 2023-25) career at Saint Mary’s – by earning a starting assignment in all seven matches to this point of the 2026 campaign.
    • Drotzmann, like Ennis, opted to conclude her collegiate soccer career at Arizona State rather than her previous stop, San Francisco (2023-25), and has played over 600 minutes on the defensive back line in all seven matches of the 2026 season.
    • Opkvitne has totaled 41 shot attempts and eight points (three goals, two assists) in over 1600 minutes played in 39 career matches as a Sun Devil.
    • Monck pushed her career total to 60 matches played – 20 as a Sun Devil – earlier this season, but has remained a member of the Arizona State family after playing 1555:20 in the Maroon and Gold over the last two seasons.
