TEMPE – Head coach Missy Farr-Kaye announced the 2026-27 Sun Devil Women’s Golf schedule Wednesday afternoon.

Arizona State will compete against some of the top competition in the country in preparation for the postseason. The Sun Devils compete in a total of nine regular season events, with four coming in the fall and five in the spring, starting September 18 in Franklin, Tenn. at the Mason Rudolph Championship. 

The postseason begins on April 21 at the Big 12 Championship in Las Vegas, with NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships slated for the month of May.

Coaches Corner:
“We are excited for the season to begin here shortly and we've added a few new tournaments in the schedule this year that we are excited about.” Coach Farr-Kaye said. “We will have the opportunity to be on the golf channel this fall in Abilene, Texas, at a new tournament at a golf course that nobody has played before, so we are really excited.” 

“We have winter break and then in the spring we are going to be playing the (Big 12) conference championship course at Las Vegas Country Club. We are excited to have our returners back and three new players joining our squad and looking forward to getting the season started here very shortly.” Remarked Farr-Kaye.

FALL SEASON:
Mason Rudolph Championship - Sept. 19-21 (Franklin, TN)
Sun Devil Women’s Golf will be opening their season at the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Golf Course. The 25th edition of the tournament will be played near Nashville, as the team is making their fourth straight appearance and has had three straight top-5 showings.

Last season, the team finished in fourth at 8-over (860) with Patience Rhodes and Johanna Axelsen finishing in the top-10. Rhodes was 1-over (214) and Axelsen being 2-over, (215). 

The Sun Devils tied their program-low 54-hole score vs. par (-25) with a third-place finish in 2017. ASU also competed at the Mason Rudolph Invitational from 2007-09 and 2005, as the Maroon & Gold will be tested against top competition with an early trip to the southeast part of the country, including a potential landing spot for NCAA Regionals.

Windy City Classic - Oct. 5-6 (Glencoe, Ill)
Arizona State is making its fifth straight appearance in the Windy City Collegiate Classic and competing in the tournament for the seventh time in the last nine seasons. Hosted by Northwestern at Lake Shore Country Club, competitors will play 36 holes on the first day, then 18 holes to follow. It’s the eighth overall appearance for the Sun Devils.

Last season, Isla McDonald O’Brien, Kate Dillon and Johanna Axelsen competed as individuals, with O’Brien finishing tied for 11th at 3-under (213). In 2024, the Sun Devils earned coach Farr-Kaye’s squad her 19th team championship beating out six top-10 teams. As a sophomore, Patience Rhodes earned her third consecutive Top-6 finish to start the year, ending in a tie for fifth.

Abilene Christian Intercollegiate - Oct. 19-21 (Granbury, Texas)
The Sun Devils will make an appearance at the inaugural Abilene Christian Intercollegiate with coverage live on Golf Channel for all three days. The three day tournament is highlighted by a nine team field played at Halbert National, a private 18-hole course that recently opened in 2025, listed as a par 72, 7,542 yards.

In the field (9): Abilene Christian (host), Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Louisville, Oregon, Purdue, Tennessee

Nanea Invitational – Oct. 26-28 (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii)
The team returns to Hawaii for the Nanea Invitational, making it the 14th time in the last 15 years the Sun Devils have competed on the island. Last season, the Sun Devils finished second for the second straight year, shooting 25-under (851) for the third best 54-hole score in team history. In 2024, ASU shot 17-under (859), placing runner up out of the 11-team field.
Last year, ASU shot 17-under, (275) in the final round which was the second best 18-hole score, all-time. Then-junior Patience Rhodes earned a top-10 finish shooting 7-under (212) and freshman Kate Dillon finished tied for 20th. In 2024, Rhodes was tied for 12th at 3-under (216). The Maroon and Gold has had previous success on the big island, winning the 2023 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational with a score of 42-under par, with Ashley Menne winning the individual title. The team wraps up the fall prior to a three month break for the spring.

Therese Hession Regional Challenge - Jan. 31-Feb 2 (Palo Verdes, Calif.)
Opening the spring, Arizona State makes its fifth straight appearance in the event of the decade. The 31st edition of the tournament is held at Palo Verdes Golf Club and in a place the coaching staff is familiar with. 

Back in 2020, Olivia Mehaffey (-5/208) put together three consecutive rounds under par on her way to a second-place finish. ASU has won the Regional Challenge team title twice (2006, 2009) and has had an individual medalist four times (Juliana Murcia in 2009, Carlota Ciganda in 2011, Monica Vaughn in 2016, Olivia Mehaffey in 2018).

Arizona Intercollegiate - Feb. 8-9 (Tucson, Ariz.)
Staying in the state of Arizona and headed down south, Coach Farr-Kaye’s team is competing in the Arizona Intercollegiate for the second straight year, after a seventh place finish in 2025. The Sun Devils are one of five Big 12 teams in the tournament field, joining Arizona, BYU, Kansas State and Texas Tech. Last year, Kate Dillon made five birdies on the front nine in her final round.

Lady Luck Invitational - March 1-2 (Las Vegas, NV)
Hosted by UNLV, the Sun Devils make a stop in Sin City after a few weeks away from competition playing at Las Vegas Country Club. The Sun Devils will begin to familiarize themselves with the course as Las Vegas CC hosts the 2027 Big 12 Championship six weeks later. Of the 15-team field, eight come from the Big 12, as ASU will compete alongside Houston, BYU, Kansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, UCF, Oklahoma State. Last year, UCF won the team title at two-over. Teams will play 36 holes the first day of competition, then 18 to follow to conclude play.

Juli Inkster Invitational - March 9-10 (San Francisco, CA)
The following week, Arizona State will head to the bay and compete at historic TPC Harding Park. Hosted by San Jose State, the team will compete where legends have previously won at such as Gary Player, Billy Casper and Tiger Woods. The course has hosted the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2025 Presidents Cup recently. The Sun Devils will face a plethora of west coast schools and former Pac-12 competition, such as Washington, California and Oregon State. Additionally, 2024 NCAA Champion Wake Forest is part of the tournament field competing in San Francisco.

PING/ASU Intercollegiate - March 25-27 (Phoenix, Ariz)
Arizona State closes the regular season hosting the annual PING/ASU Intercollegiate at Papago Golf Club. The nation’s best teams will compete in one of the nations historic collegiate golf tournaments with the 54th edition of the PING/ASU Intercollegiate. This will be the 9th playing of the tournament at Papago Golf Club, after the first 45 editions took place at Karsten Golf Course. The Maroon and Gold have won the most team titles with 23, the last coming in 2025. ASU has also won the most individual titles with 18, the latest coming in 2022 when Alexandra Forsterling took the crown.

Last year, freshman Fai Rubrong earned the 2026 Ann Votik Award for being the top freshman player after a runner-up finish at 7-under (209) for the tournament. The team shot 10-under in the final round last year as a team to secure a second place finish.

POSTSEASON:
Big 12 Championship - April 21-23 (Las Vegas, NV)
The Sun Devils will return to Las Vegas with the postseason beginning at Las Vegas Country Club, home of the Big 12 Championship. The team will face its conference rivals over the course of three days as the tournament will determine The Big 12 All-Conference Team based on how teams finish. A Territorial Cup point will also be awarded to the team that finishes highest between Arizona State and Arizona.

The Sun Devils were runner-up in their Big 12 Championship debut at Houston Oaks Country Club in 2025 and finished tied for fourth in 2026. Patience Rhodes made her return to the lineup last April and earned a fourth place finish at 2-under, (214) over the three days. Freshman Fai Rubrong was in the top-15 at 2-over (218). 

In 2019, Olivia Mehaffey claimed the Pac-12 Individual Championship by coming back from four strokes down on the final day. The Sun Devils last one as a team back in 2009 on their way to the program's seventh of eight NCAA Championships, with Coach Farr-Kaye serving as an Assistant Coach that year. The Sun Devils have won eight conference titles as a program. 

NCAA Regionals - May 10-12 (Aiken, South Carolina; Dallas, Texas; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Franklin, Tennessee; Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Stanford, California)
Arizona State has qualified for NCAA Regionals since its creation in 1992, coming home with five regional titles, the latest being in 2017. Last year, the team finished fourth in the Stanford regional for the program’s 40th overall appearance and the eighth under Missy Farr-Kaye. Three Sun Devils finished in the top-25, led by Rhodes who was 6-under (206), tied for 6th. 

A total of 72 teams are selected to the NCAA Regionals, with 12 teams making each regional. ASU would need to finish in the Top-5 of their regional to advance to the NCAA Championship. The Sun Devil Women's Golf program has claimed or shared a total of five Regional team championships, with the last two coming during the midst of National Championship runs in 2009 & 2017. Arizona State is one of only four programs in the country to make the NCAA Championship at least 23 times since 2000 (25-year span). They are joined by Duke, Stanford, and USC on this exclusive list.

NCAA Championship - May 21-26 (La Costa, CA; Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Champions Course)
For the fourth straight year, the national championship will be played at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa near San Diego, the Champions Course in Carlsbad. If the team advances from the regional, it would be the 31st time advancing from regionals and a chance to play for their ninth national championship. Missy Farr-Kaye was head coach when the team won its last national titles in 2017, defeating Northwestern at Rich Harvest Farms in Chicago. Additionally, Arizona State has secured national titles in 2009, 1998, 1997, 1995, 1994, 1993, and 1990

The Sun Devils made the top-15 cut after three days of competition, but was unable to advance to match play, finishing 10th. It marked the team’s fourth top-10 finish for the program in the last six seasons. 

On the Roster:
Senior Patience Rhodes returns to the lineup this season after earning All-American honors for the second time and being the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year. Joining her as sophomores is Kate Dillon, Fai Rubrong, and Johanna Axelsen after a year of valuable experience as freshmen. Amelia Wan and Isabella Cioe join the program as transfers after Wan played for Baylor as a freshman, and Cioe playing two years at San Jose State prior to this season. Freshman Natalia Aparicio joins the team after winning five events in Italy, including the Italian Girls U18 National Championship.
