TEMPE – Sun Devil Swim and Dive announced its 2026-27 competition schedule Tuesday morning, featuring four home meets at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center and multiple trips to Texas leading up to the NCAA Championships, held in Austin, Texas in March 2027.
The defending Big 12 Champions open the season against UNLV for the third straight year on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. MST. In 2025, the Sun Devils welcomed nearly 3,000 fans to their home opener, making it one of the largest college swim meets in history.
One week later, the women’s team heads north for a dual against Northern Arizona at 3:30 p.m., while members of the team will travel to Dallas for the SMU Classic held in Dallas on Oct. 9-10. Following a week off from action, the Maroon and Gold will welcome SMU in a short-course meter’s dual set for 2 p.m. in Tempe on Oct. 22.
During Halloween weekend, members of the team will travel to Westmont, Ill. and attempt to qualify for the World Aquatic Championships starting Oct. 28-31. Then the team will return to action with a tri-meet against USC and UCLA in Los Angeles during Nov. 6-7.
The team will then head to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Invite, where they will compete against the top swimmers in the country at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center on Nov. 18-20. While the dive team will be at the SMU Invite in Dallas starting Nov. 19-21.
The World Aquatic Championships (SCare) are set for Dec. 1-6 in Beijing, China, as the team takes a break from competition for the finals and the holiday. The Sun Devils return to action on Jan. 9, 2,027 against Grand Canyon at 12 p.m., before heading south for the second annual Big 12 West Championships, hosted by Arizona in Tucson starting Jan. 15-16.
Arizona State will then have its final home meet of the regular season, hosting in-state rival Arizona at 12 p.m. on Feb.y 6, before preparing for the postseason, where the Maroon and Gold will try to defend their pair of Big 12 Championships starting Feb. 23-27 at Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The dive team will compete at NCAA Diving Zones in Flagstaff from March 4-6 to qualify for the national meet. The Sun Devil women begin competition at the NCAA Championships on March 17-20, with the men’s competition starting the following week on March 24-27 in Austin, Texas.
Arizona State successfully defended its pair of Big 12 Championships with both the men’s and women’s teams winning the conference for the second straight year. The men won a conference title for the fourth consecutive season.
The men finished fourth at the NCAA Championships, marking their third top-5 finish in the last four seasons, and earned five national titles during the week. The women sent 10 individuals to nationals and earned second-team All-American honors in the 200 medley relay.
