TRALEE, Ireland – Sun Devil Golf will be represented at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup held July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Links in Tralee, Ireland.
The men’s team will be represented by Connor Williams on Team USA. Sun Devil Women’s Golf’s Patience Rhodes will be playing for Team International, alongside incoming men’s golf transfer Nguyen Anh Minh.
About the Palmer Cup
The Ryder Cup-style competition features the best men’s and women’s collegiate golfers against their international counterparts in an event that’s been played annually since 1997, with the addition of the women’s competition in 2018. Team USA leads the all-time series 15-13-1.
All-American trio
Williams, Rhodes and Anh Minh earned All-American honors after impressive 2025-26 seasons. Williams was tabbed as Golfweek’s honorable mention All-America honors. He finished seventh at the 2025 NCAA Championship and has 12 top-10 finishes in his career and five top-five finishes.Â
Rhodes, who was named the 2025-26 Big 12 Player of the Year, had five top-10 finishes this past season, including two coming in the last three tournaments, with a fourth-place finish at the Women's Big 12 Championships, shooting 2-under (214) for the tournament. Rhodes has competed at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur the last two years.
Nguyen Anh Minh is an incoming transfer for Matt Thurmond’s squad for next season. Minh is ranked No. 25 in the WAGR, earned GCAA Freshman All-America, GCAA All-West Region honors this past year with an Oregon State record 69.13 stroke average in 23 rounds, 17 of them at par or better.Â
He also earned West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, and the season included a Beaver record 61 (-10) at the Bandon Dunes Collegiate. Mihn earned PING GCAA All-America honorable mention alongside Williams and Sun Devil alum Michael Mjaaseth.
