EUGENE, Ore – Sun Devil Track and Field saw two of its student-athletes take home All-American honors, as graduate thrower Ines Lopez earned First-Team All-American status after placing third in women’s discus. Graduate distance runner Dayton Carlson took 15th in the men’s 800m to achieve Second-Team All-American status after a weekend competition at Hayward Field.
For Lopez, her throw of 59.96m, 196-9 took third place nationally, as she is now a two-time All-American after earning Second-Team discus honors in 2025.
Lopez is the first women’s First-Team All-American since 2023 and first thrower to earn First-Team AA honors since Jordine Van Klinken in 2022.
As for Carlson, he closes his Sun Devil career as two-time 800m Second-Team All-American after also taking 15th in 2024.
