(The No. 13 Sun Devil Men’s Golf season came to an end Sunday in Carlsbad at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa (North Course), as it didn’t make the 15-team cut after three rounds. ASU finished 21st at 13-over 877 (291-293-293).
Junior Connor Williams will continue to play on Monday, as his 2-under 214 (66-71-77) earned him a tie for the final individual spot for the teams not advancing. He will compete in a one-hole playoff with Gerardo Gomez of Arkansas on Monday at 8 a.m. for the right to play the final 18.
(NOTE: After winning the playoff, Williams finished tied for 32nd at par 288, shooting 66-71-77-74).
Williams, ranked No. 28 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) and No. 54 by the NCAA entering the tournament, shot a 1-under 71 Saturday after firing a 6-under 66 on Friday. He has 12 birdies and is averaging 3.90 on the par-4 holes, tied for 10th-best in the 156-man field. He tied for seventh in 2025 at the same course with a 4-under 284 (68-67-75-74) as he is now 6-under par in seven NCAA Tournament rounds in Carlsbad.

Michael Mjaaseth wraps up his career
Senior Michael Mjaaseth wrapped up his career as a two-time honorable mention All-American (2022-23 and 2024-25). He earned GCAA All-Freshman honors in 2022-23 as well. He posted six top-10 finishes in 2025-26, 16 top-10 finishes in his career and also had eight top-five finishes. He set a Sun Devil freshman best stroke average of 70.72 and was Golfstat's fifth ranked freshmen in 2022-23, helping ASU get to match play with a 4-under care in the third round of the 2023 NCAA Championship. He earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year that season, the sixth Sun Devil to win the award since its inception in 1999 and the fourth consecutive ASU men’s golfer to achieve the honor. He finished 12th on the PGA TOUR rankings for 2025-26.
