TEMPE – No. 14 Sun Devil Women’s Tennis swept the Colorado Buffaloes, 4-0, on senior day Sunday afternoon at Whiteman Tennis Center. Graduate Vivian Ovrootsky secured her 16th singles win of the season to clinch the match on court two, 6-2, 6-3.

Arizona State (17-4, 9-2 Big 12) moved to 17-0 all time against Colorado (10-10, 2-8 Big 12) since the teams' first meeting in 1986. The Sun Devils have their longest win streak in conference play since March 22 - April 20, 2024, with seven-straight conference wins.

In doubles, Ovrootsky and sophomore Lily Taylor got the win, 6-3, on court one. Colorado (10-10, 2-8 Big 12) took the tiebreaker on court two, 7-6 (3), which set the stage for ASU’s freshman duo of Zlata Bartanusz and Sarang Lim to clinch the doubles point in an intense 7-6 (5) win. The pair was down 5-1 in the set and won five of the next six games to force a tiebreaker.

ASU continued its momentum in singles with junior Emilija Tverijonaite winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, for her 30th win of the season. This moved her into a tie for 19th all-time at ASU with Katy Propstra (1996-1999) with 74 career singles wins and tied her for fourth most in a season, 30, with Adira Engel (2003). Tverijonaite is the sixth Sun Devil all time to win 30+ singles matches in a season.

Freshman Sarang Lim pushed the lead to 3-0 for the Sun Devils with her second singles win of the weekend on court six. Lim took the match, 6-3, 6-2, to improve her singles record to 7-4 on the year.

Ovrootsky’s win on court two moved her to a perfect 16-0 this spring. The win puts Ovrootsky at 28 total wins on the season, tying Mhairi Brown (2001), Sabrina Capannolo (2004), Desirae Krawczyk (2014, 2016), Gussie O’Sullivan (2016) and Megan Yeats (2000) for sixth most in a season.

The Sun Devils begin their final road trip of the regular season on Thursday, April 9, at BYU before facing Utah on Saturday, April 11.
