PROVO, Utah – With a potential berth in next week’s Big 12 Conference Tournament on the line, the Sun Devil Softball program will travel to the Beehive State for a three-game conference series against BYU to conclude the Sun Devils’ 2026 regular season.

SERIES SCHEDULE:

  • Thursday, April 30 – at BYU, 5 p.m. MST / 6 p.m. MDT (ESPN+)
  • Friday, May 1 – at BYU, 5 p.m. MST / 6 p.m. MDT (ESPN+)
  • Saturday, May 2 – at BYU, 11 a.m. MST / 12 p.m. MDT (ESPN+)

TELEVISION:

  • Spencer Linton (play by play) and Taylei Williams (analyst) will call the weekend’s action on the ESPN+ broadcast.

THE OPPOSITION:

  • This weekend’s series will mark the first time Arizona State has played a softball game against BYU in Provo, Utah since May 19, 2007, when the Sun Devils capped the NCAA Provo Regional with a 6-3 win over BYU.
  • Friday’s game will mark the 16th time Arizona State has played BYU as a ranked team.
    • The first 15 matchups between the two programs occurred when the Sun Devils were ranked as a top 25 team.
  • Arizona State will enter the weekend series with a 16-3 all-time record against BYU dating back to the first-ever matchup on Feb. 16, 2001.

LEADING OFF:

  • With their next win, Arizona State will win its 36th game on the season, the most under fourth-year head coach Megan Bartlett and most since the Sun Devils won 43 contests throughout the 2022 campaign.
  • If the Arizona State offense manages to hit seven doubles over the course of the three-game series, it’ll mark the fifth time in program history the Sun Devils have hit 90-or-more doubles during a single season and first time since hitting 98 in 2019.
  • By scoring six-or-more runs against BYU, Arizona State will have scored 371 runs on the season, the most by a Sun Devil team post-COVID.
  • If Arizona State can be credited with 24 hits over the weekend’s three-game series, it’ll mark the first time a Sun Devil team has earned 450-or-more hits since the 2018 season, when it had 453.
  • If Kaylee Pond draws four walks on the weekend, she’ll become the 18th Sun Devil to earn 40-or-more walks during a single season, becoming the first since Cydney Sanders had 45 during the 2022 season.
  • With Katie Chester (57), Kaylee Pond (45), Samantha Swan (43) and Emily Schepp (41) all having 40-or-more RBI this season, it marks the first time since 2022 – Cydney Sanders (63), Jazmine Hill (54), Yannira Acuna (43) and Alynah Torres (40) – that four different Sun Devils drove in 40-or-more runs during a single season.
