Track and Field’s Thompson earns First-Team All-American honors at NCAA Indoor Championships
Amir Thompson competes at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sun Devil Track and Field added a new member to its All-American club as sophomore sprinter Amir Thompson earned First-Team All-American honors. Despite an unfortunate DNF in the finals, Thompson qualified high enough to compete in the first section of the finals and earn the national honors.
The performance came as Arizona State concluded its 2026 indoor season at the NCAA Indoor National Championships, held March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Thompson became the first Sun Devil to earn First-Team All-American honors in the men’s 200 meters since Domenik Peterson in 2005.
He is also just the third ASU student-athlete to earn All-American recognition in the event, joining Peterson (2004, 2005) and Seth Amoo (2003).

Junior sprinter Jayden Davis earned All-American honors in the men’s 400 meters for the second consecutive season after placing 12th in 45.94 to be named a Second-Team All-American.
