COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – Sun Devil Track and Field wrapped up its third indoor meet of the season after competing in the Charlie Thomas Invitational hosted by Texas A&M at the R.A. “Murray” Fasken ’38 Indoor Track over the weekend.

Arizona State was once again headlined by freshman sprinter Amir Thompson, who claimed first place in the Men’s 200m dash with a time of 20.62. Thompson’s blazing speed etched his name into the history books, standing alone with the second-fastest indoor 200m time in program history.

Thompson has now won two events on the young season after taking first in the men’s 300m in 32.29 at the Corky Classic on Jan. 17. 

The Sun Devil men’s 4x400 relay team, consisting of junior Jayden Davis, sophomore Mateo Medina, senior Dayton Carlson and Amir Thompson, took first place in the event, clocking in at 3:05.08 to claim their second 4x400 relay victory of the season. 

Davis continued his strong start, as he took second in the Men’s 400m at 32.00. Graduate thrower Ines Lopez set a new personal record of 16.51m / 51-2 in a runner-up effort as she has now placed second in both events she's competed in this season. 

Men’s throwers graduate Brandon Lloyd (19.0m / 62-4) and sophomore Preston Beery (18.07m / 59-3 1/2) took podium finishes with second and third place efforts in the men’s shot put.

The Sun Devils will be back in action at the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center from Feb. 13-14.
