The fifth-ranked Sun Devil Water Polo program opened MPSF Conference play with a two-game road trip through California from Feb. 21-22. Arizona State fell to reigning national champion and top-ranked Stanford, 16-11, before bouncing back with a dominant 21-7 victory over No. 16 San Jose State to split the weekend.
Freshman center Lulu Gaetano dominated in the middle against San Jose State, converting on all four of her shot attempts to push her season total to 10 goals. Freshman attacker Laura Kardos contributed two goals and two assists for four points in the win.
Senior attacker Millie Quin and freshman attacker Maci Magee each recorded hat tricks in the victory. Quin now sits just 10 goals shy of becoming the program's all-time leading scorer.
