TEMPE – On the road for the third weekend in a row, Sun Devil Gymnastics will compete in two quad meets this weekend, first at Texas Woman’s on Friday, Feb. 27, before a meet at San Jose State on Sunday, March 1.
At Texas Woman’s for the second weekend in a row, Arizona State will compete alongside TWU, No. 4 Florida and Fisk. In that meet, ASU will start on beam. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. CST/6 p.m. MST.
For the San Jose State meet on Sunday, ASU will matchup against SJSU, Boise State and Sacramento State. The Gym Devils will start on beam again in that quad meet, which will begin at 2 p.m. PST/3 p.m. MST.

The TWU meet will be live on FloCollege (which requires a subscription), while the SJSU meet will be on the Mountain West Network. There will be live scoring available on Virtius for both meets. Updates will be provided on social media @SunDevilGym on X and @sundevilgymnastics on Instagram.
Sun Devil Outlook
Arizona State (5-5, 2-2 Big 12)
- The Sun Devils finished third last week in a quad meet with a score of 195.550. They fell to TWU and Oregon State and placed above Kent State.
- The team scored a 49.125 on the floor, their second-highest score for the event this season. Additionally, the team hit a new season best on vault with a 49.050.
- The Gym Devils dominated event titles last week at TWU, with every event being won or tied for first. Freshman Kylee Bromley tied for first on floor (9.875), Kayla Lee tied for first on beam (9.875) and senior Kimberly Smith won bars (9.900), vault (9.850) and the all-around (39.250).
- Smith is coming off of a strong performance where in addition to winning bars and vault she won the all-around (39.250). Her bars score was the highest on that event for the Sun Devils this season.
- The Sun Devils had a strong and consistent performance on vault with freshman Safia El Mammann leading off with a 9.825 and scoring a 49.050 on the event. This was the Gym Devils’ highest score on vault all season.
Opponent outlook
TWU Quad
- Texas Woman’s (7-9) finished first with a score of 195.975 at home last week in a quad meet facing ASU, Oregon State, and Kent State. The Gym Devils are 3-1 all-time against the Pioneers.
- Florida (7-2) is coming off a ranked road win at No. 6 Georgia. The Gators lead in the all-time series against the Gym Devils, 4-5. However, the last meeting was all the way back in 2004, where Florida placed higher than ASU in a quad meet.
- Fisk (4-20) is coming off of a quad meet loss to Towson, Eastern Michigan, and George Washington with a score of 189.800. This will be the first meeting between ASU and Fisk and the last as it is the last season for the program.
SJSU Quad
- San Jose State (10-2) last hosted a tri-meet with Air Force and UC Davis where the Spartans came in second. ASU and SJSU saw each other earlier this season at the Sun Devils’ home-opening tri-meet, which the Spartans won. Arizona State leads in the all-time series 12-4.
- Boise State (5-10) fell in a dual meet at Utah State last weekend. ASU leads 14-4 in the all-time series.
- Sacramento State (5-8) won a dual meet at home against William & Mary, scoring a season-high 194.550. All-time, the Sun Devils lead the Hornets 5-1.
