MORGANTOWN, W.V. – Sun Devil Gymnastics swept all event titles in a team win at West Virginia on Saturday night, besting the Mountaineers 194.425 to 194.075.
Notable stats
- Despite an off night, Arizona State (4-3, 2-2 Big 12) took the win against West Virginia (6-7, 1-2 Big 12). ASU trailed after the first two rotations, taking the lead after floor and holding on to win.
- Continuing her strong season was senior Kimberly Smith, who won the all-around (39.300), floor (9.925) and bars (9.850). Her floor score tied her career high and is the highest score by a Gym Devil this season.
- Freshman Safia El Mammann had a strong meet as well, winning the event titles for vault (9.850) and beam (9.825), the two events she competed in. The beam score was a new personal best, while the vault score tied her career high that she has hit three times this season.
- The final Sun Devil to earn an event title was freshman Kylee Bromley, who tied with Smith on bars with a 9.850. That score matches her personal best.
- The floor event total (49.075) was the third time this season scoring over a 49.000 on that event for the Sun Devils.
- Senior Isabella Kowan made her collegiate debut on bars tonight, earning a 9.750.
