TEMPE – Due to Iowa State canceling the remainder of its season, Sun Devil Gymnastics’ home meet on Feb. 22 will be canceled.
The Cyclones announced the decision to not finish their season on Feb. 8. Despite attempting to find a replacement home meet, Arizona State was able to join Texas Woman's meet on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. MST. ASU will compete alongside TWU, Oregon State and Kent State.
"Our Sun Devil gymnasts love every opportunity they have to compete in front of our fans and make Gym Devil nation proud, so the loss of our next home competition is extremely unfortunate for our athletes and our fans alike," said head coach Jay Santos "I would like to urge and encourage all of Sun Devil nation to come out for our final home meet on March 15 and give our seniors and whole team an amazing home atmosphere in Desert Financial Arena! Let’s rally together for an unforgettable final home meet.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the Iowa State meet will receive a ticket to the final home meet on March 13. Season ticket holders will also receive an extra ticket to that meet.
The Gym Devils’ final regular-season home meet is on March 15 when they will host Utah State and SEMO for senior day. ASU also is one of the four NCAA Regionals sites this season, holding postseason meets in Desert Financial Arena from April 1-4.
Arizona State is in action next on Saturday, Feb. 14, at West Virginia.
