Sun Devil outlook
Arizona State (3-3, 1-1 Big 12)
- The Sun Devils are coming off a close loss to No. 18 Denver, where they scored a 195.875.
- Freshman Safia El Mammann tied her season best on vault against Denver, 9.850, to secure her first collegiate event title.
- Senior Kimberly Smith continues to produce for the Sun Devils, last meet earning herself a 9.875 on floor and beam, as well as a 9.825 on bars and vault. She has competed in the all-around in every meet this season, earning a score of 39.400 or better twice.
- On beam, senior Kayla Lee has scored at least a 9.825 in the lead-off spot in every meet this season. Last week, she tied her season high on beam with a 9.850. She also set a new season high on floor with a 9.850 as well.
- Against Denver, ASU set a new season high on bars with 49.025. Four of the five scores that counted were a 9.800 or better.
Opponent outlook
West Virginia (6-6, 1-1 Big 12)
- In their most recent tri-meet, West Virginia came in second place with a 194.775, falling to Western Michigan but edging out Northern Illinois.
- Last season, West Virginia finished the season 4-14 with a 0-6 record in the Big 12. The Mountaineers made it to the first round of the Pennsylvania Regionals where they fell to Maryland.
- The Sun Devils are 3-2 all-time against the Mountaineers. West Virginia traveled to Tempe last year for a tight contest, where ASU secured the win 196.2250 to 195.8250.
