TEMPE - The Sun Devil Triathlon family is saddened to confirm the passing of alumni Hannah Henry, who was tragically involved in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday, February 8.
“We have lost an incredible person who had wonderful relationships in our program,” said Sun Devil Triathlon head coach Cliff English. “Her passing has us filled with grief because she was more than a great student-athlete, she was a proud graduate of Arizona State who cared deeply about the program and everyone that was and is a part of it.”
Henry is forever etched in the Sun Devil record books, winning two individual titles in 2017 and 2018 en route to the team’s four team titles during her tenure from 2017-2021.
Graduating summa cum laude in 2021 with her Bachelor of Science in business entrepreneurship and a minor in nutrition and healthy living, Henry went on to complete her master’s degree in 2023, earning a Master of Global Management with a focus on sustainability solutions.
“We are deeply saddened for our Sun Devil family on the loss of Hannah,” said Sun Devil Athletics Director Graham Rossini. “Our love and support for her family and our triathlon program will be extended in various ways and we thank all who are offering help in a very tough time.”
Details on services will be updated as the family announces them.
